About Bill Gates



William R. Gates (Bill or Gator) is a self-taught photographer. He started photography when he purchased his first SLR film camera, a Minolta X700, in 1983. Since then his photography has won numerous awards and contests, has been published in several media, and has been or is sold in a number of locations (click here to view a list).

Bill has recently displayed his photography in the Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge Visitors Center, the Huntsville Branch of the Madison County (Alabama) Library, and the Huntsville/Madison County Visitors Center.  Several photos are currently displayed on other websites (click here to view a list of sites).

Over the years he has been a member of four photo clubs. He served as Treasurer of the Huntsville Photographic Society (HPS) in 2004 and 2005. Bill is currently a member of the HPS and Art League of Madison.
